The Burkean Club

The Club is intended to provide an opportunity for people with conservative views to socialise and discuss political ideas. It is not a forum for the consideration of detailed policy, for which other organisations exist. As the name implies, the qualification for membership is a political worldview consonant with Burke's; membership of the Conservative Party is not essential. The Club tends to support the Party in general, but not on all specific issues. Geographically, it is based on East Kent, not on a specific Parliamentary constituency.

The Club meets 4 to 6 times a year, either at drinks parties or more formal dinners.
